Newtown Man Charged with Animal Cruelty

The man allegedly left his dogs in a car alone during a hot day.

A Newtown man was charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly left his two dogs in his truck Tuesday with the windows rolled up.

Officers were dispatched to the Trumbull Home Depot, according to the News-Times.

The two dogs were panting and suffering from the heat, police said. The temperature inside the truck was 93 degrees.

Arthur Villamil, 47, was charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
