Newtown Man Charged With Fleeing Crash Scene: PD

NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown man was issued a misdemeanor summons after he left the scene of a crash at the intersection of Country Club Road and South Main Street Feb. 15, according to police.

Police stopped the fleeing vehicle moments later, police said. John McCafferty, 52, was charged with evading responsibility, operating a vehicle under a suspended license, operating an unregistered vehicle and failure to grant right of way at a stop sign.
