Newtown Men Involved in Norwalk Narcotics, Illegal Firearm Arrests
Four suspects were apprehended Sunday night in a car on Sheridan Street.
NORWALK, CT — Four suspects were arrested in Norwalk on narcotics and illegal firearm charges Sunday night on Sheridan Street, according to police.
Just before 10 p.m., Members of the Norwalk Police Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team responded to a citizen complaint of "a suspicious motor vehicle in the area of Sheridan Street and Woodward Avenue."
"Officers located the vehicle and contacted the four male occupants," police wrote in a statement. "Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed one of the males, Jimmie Springer, holding a marijuana cigarette. During their subsequent investigation, [the] Officers recovered 5.8 grams of marijuana, 16.78 grams of marijuana wax, a marijuana grinder and a marijuana smoking pipe. Officers also located a stolen Smith and Wesson firearm under the driver’s seat and a facsimile handgun in the trunk."

Arrested were:
Jimmie Springer, 24, of Wright Street, Stamford

Anthony Thompkins, 25, of Sheriden Street, Norwalk
Adam Robertson, 18, of Appleblossom Lane, Newtown
They were charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Pistol, Theft of a Firearm
- Interfering with an Officer
- Possession Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Less than 4oz of Marijuana
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Carrying a Gun without a Permit
- Weapons in a Motor Vehicle.
Robertson was not charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, according to police.
Also arrested was:
Stephen Violet, 18, of Underhill Lane, Newtown
He was charged with:
- Theft of a Firearm
- Interfering with an Officer
- Possession Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Less than 4oz of Marijuana
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Carrying a Gun without a Permit
- Weapon in a Motor Vehicle
