NEWTOWN, CT — Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon on Route 25 in the area of Reservoir Road.
Emergency responders were called around 3 p.m. about the crash. Police found a heavily damaged motorcycle in the southbound lane and the operator was located down an embankment of the southbound shoulder, said Sgt. Aaron Bahamonde.
Paramedics declared the operator dead on scene.

The road remains closed as of 6 p.m. as police work to investigate how the accident occurred.
The name of the deceased won't be released until next of kin are notified.
