Newtown Police Avert Suicide Attempt

Police also confiscated numerous weapons found in the man's home.

NEWTOWN, CT -- Police stopped a man in the Botsford area of Newtown from making good on his suicidal threats, the News-Times is reporting.

Newtown police, along with members of the Danbury Regional Emergency Unit, responded to the threats on Saturday night, taking the man into protective custody. Also taken were numerous weapons police report they found in the man's home.
