Newtown Police Briefs: Domestic Violence Arrest, Items Taken from Vehicle

Items Taken from Motor Vehicle

A victim reported to police that items were taken from a vehicle in the Dogwood Terrace area on Aug. 21.

Items were taken sometime after 10 p.m., police said. They include a GPS unit, a Nokia brand tablet and cash.

Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana

A Newtown man was issued infractions after he was observed weaving through traffic on Aug. 28 on Mt. Pleasant Road.

Police made the stop and cited the 53-year-old man for failure to drive right, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of of drug paraphernalia.

Domestic violence Arrest

A South Main Street man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following a domestic violence incident, police said.

The incident happened in town.

The 65-year-old man was released on a $500 bond.
