Newtown Resident Claims Winning CT Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket

The lucky ticket was sold in Southbury, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown resident is $20,000 richer this week after claiming a winning lottery ticket he purchased in Southbury, the Connecticut Lottery announced.

On Thursday, Lance Galassi claimed a winning "20X Cash 7th Edition" ticket he purchased at Main Street Deli on Main Street South.

The game, which costs $20 per ticket, began in August, and as of Monday, 74 grand prizes of $20,000 remained unclaimed.

More than 2.1 million tickets have been printed, and the overall odds of winning are 1 in 4.08.
