Newtown Robber Captured: PD
The Danbury robber was arrested after he stole keys from a 10-year-old girl, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Danbury man was arrested after he stole a vehicle in Newtown during a robbery, according to police. The vehicle was stolen from Church Hill Road on Nov. 2.
A man recklessly drove a stolen Toyota Venza into the parking lot of 111 Church Hill Rd. He approached a 10-year-old girl who was standing next to a vehicle and took keys to a 2014 Honda Odyssey, police said.
The vehicle owner jumped on the vehicle's hood as the robber drove off, police said. The owner fell off the vehicle and sustained an injury.

Police identified the robber as Osvaldo Lopez, 29, of Danbury. He was arrested Dec. 21 and charged with reckless driving, weapon in a motor vehicle, first-degree larceny, third-degree larceny, third-degree robbery, third-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.
