Newtown Savings Bank Presents 29th Annual Holiday Festival to Benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services

Newtown Savings Bank will present the Holiday Festival on Sunday, December 7, 2014.

NEWTOWN, CT – For the twenty-ninth year, Newtown Savings Bank will present the Holiday Festival on Sunday, December 7, 2014. This year we will feature a Historic Trolley Ride, Historic House Tours, Holiday Tea sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank, Gingerbread House Contest, Yankee Candle sale, Jingle Bell Jam Concert sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank and Sippin Energy, Frozen Frenzy, Scholastic Book Sale, The Festival of Trees, Trinity Church’s service of Lessons and Carols, The Nutcracker Suite Ballet and much more!

“This Annual Festival always brings cheer and kicks off the Holidays for Newtown,” states Kaitlyn Johnson, Community Coordinator NYFS. “We strive to bring families together while celebrating the season. We are especially excited that our Historic House Tours are back this year- a Holiday Festival favorite,” she adds.

Candice Bohr, Executive Director of Newtown Youth and Family Services adds, “There are so many new and exciting activities we have added to the Holiday Festivals itinerary.” She continues,

“Newtown Savings Bank, once again our title sponsor, will also be co-sponsoring the Jingle Bell Jam with Sippin Energy which is a “kick off” concert the night before the Holiday Festival.”
The Jingle Bell Jam sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank and Sippin Energy will be held the day before the Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 6th at 7:00pm in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall.

The concert will feature Holiday Favorite tunes from community favorite band, Goldrush. Goldrush is a unique ensemble that performs original, traditional and American Roots Music. This will be a separate ticket purchase that can be bought in advance or at the door.

Also new this year to the Holiday Festival itinerary, The Frozen Frenzy party. Kids can come make a craft, have a Frozen inspired snack, play games, sing karaoke and even meet some of the characters. Holiday Festival ticket holders are welcome to join the party!

Tickets will be available beginning Monday, November 10th at Everything Newtown, and multiple Newtown Savings Bank locations (Main St. in Newtown, Sand Hill Plaza in Newtown, Stony Hill in Bethel, and Federal Rd. in Brookfield). The cost is $10 for individuals and $25 for families (2 Adults, 2 Children). Each additional child is $5. Jingle Bell Jam tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the multiple Newtown Savings Bank locations as well at NYFS, 13 Berkshire Rd. location from 9:00am-4:00pm. Patrons who attend the Jingle Bell Jam can bring their ticket
stub from the concert to the Holiday Festival and receive reduced admission of $5 off an adult ticket.

Newtown Youth and Family Services (NYFS) is dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. Our dynamic nonprofit agency combines clinical services and positive youth development programs to provide a continuum of care to residents of the greater Newtown area. NYFS is the designated mental health clinic for Newtown/Sandy Hook and is licensed by the Department of Children & Families as an Outpatient Psychiatric
Clinic for Children and by the Department of Public Health as a Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic for Adults and as a Facility for the Care or Treatment of Substance Abusive or Dependent Persons. NYFS is accredited by the Council  on Accreditation.
