FREE Drop-In Lunch Program
Newtown Youth and Family Services, located at 15 Berkshire Road in Sandy Hook, will be hosting a FREE drop-in lunchtime program for parents and their children meeting weekly beginning Wednesday, January 7th. Stop by NYFS every Wednesday between the hours of 12pm-1:00pm for a chance to socialize and eat lunch with other parents while your little one participates in supervised fun and safe activities at the same time. Poetry Workshop
NYFS is offering a weekly poetry workshop beginning Tuesday, Jan 6 - February 10th from 7:00pm-8:00pm. This workshop is designed to help writers develop their poetic voices and gain more knowledge about their craft. This program will look at writing as a process rather than completing perfect pieces. During class times various styles of poetry will be presented, as well as writing prompts. Please bring a notebook to the first class. Class costs $45 per person. Guiltless Comfort Foods
NYFS will be hosting a series of classes to teach how to make some of your favorite foods healthier without loosing all of the taste. The first in this series is meeting on Wednesday, January 7th from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. During this class you will learn how to use new approaches to cooking and different ingredients to make some of your favorite foods guiltless. Take home recipes and tips to cook impressive, fresh foods and slim down your cooking style. You will even be able to sample some of the delicious meals discussed.
