Newtown's Inner Child Yoga to Offer Buddha Boot Camp to Combat Back to School Blues and First Day Jitters

August 22, 23, 24 Newtown yoga studio offering "Buddha Boot Camp" for ages 3 to teens

On August 22, 23 and 24, Inner Child Yoga (97 South Main Street. Newtown) is offering “Buddha Boot Camp,” designed for ages 3 to teens, to help combat back to school blues and first day of school jitters.

Inner Child Yoga Buddha Boot Camp is a one hour class for three days in a row that will include age appropriate yoga moves, mindfulness and meditation exercises, and fun games to help kids relax and focus on their body and breathing.

According to Yogi Barbie Burton, owner of Inner Child Yoga, “Transition times, particularly going back to school, can create anxiety for kids. They may feel anticipatory emotions of fear and excitement about new teachers, new friends, more homework, being away from home all day, and getting up earlier in the morning. Yoga and meditation will help them sleep better, focus more easily, relax their brains, and energize their bodies. We will do this with them for three days here at Inner Child Yoga, and then they will be armed with these powerful tools to use throughout the school year and help smooth out bumps along the way.”
