OPINION: Tony Hwang; Exuberant Vision for the Future

Tony Hwang is Senate candidate for the 28th District, which includes the towns of Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston, and Westport.

Letter to the Editor:

To the Editor:Over the years … and there have been many since I’m now 80! … of watching and working for political candidates, I’ve never met a more committed public servant than Tony Hwang. In an age of disillusionment with politics it is so important to have a man like Tony Hwang as a leader in the CT state Senate. His exuberant attendance and participation at events sponsored by young people have given them a good model for their lives.

I remember one specific example at Trumbull High School that Tony attended. After the program, a student said to me: “Mr. Hwang gives me hope for politicians in our country. He REALLY cares about us and issues — and he has a great sense of humor!”Tony can also provide the vision needed to bring our planet, and our state, into a better place of concern with the environment. He sees clearly the issues before us and has the courage to work hard for the passage of laws to preserve this beautiful planet for the next generation — as well as providing a healthy environment for our own lives.

That’s why he’s earned the endorsement of the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters, and why, as a past member of the Trumbull Land Trust, Pequonnock Valley Commission, and Founder of the Trumbull Nature & Arts Center and TYA, I encourage residents of the 28th Senate District to vote for Tony Hwang.
