Our Political & Personal Responsibility

Digesting the current Presidential Campaign

This election is no longer about the principles of a party, or the economic and social condition of the country. It is about the character of those seeking election, their misstatements and political attacks. Instead of concentrating on how they will address the current domestic or international issues they chose to participate in a bashing contest of each other, dominating the mainstream media’s coverage.

This political campaign is asking us to select the individual that will create the least amount of damage to the country and not about the candidate that will contribute to improving the social and economic condition of all citizens. So, instead of addressing unemployment, GDP growth, poverty or the improvement of global relationships, in detail with specific solutions, we allow our candidates to reduce the campaign standards to those of a boxing match. The individual that scores the most blows wins the contest, regardless of whether the more important issues are addressed or not.

It is up to us to demand higher standards. We are the people who have the ability to demand these standards. Whether Democrat, Republican, Independent or any other affiliation, we should, before we vote for the most important office in the world, review the principles with which our country was founded, in order to assist in electing the most appropriate candidate for our country. Can it be done? Are we capable of putting party politics behind us, while planning to move our country forward? The answer, of course, is yes, IF - we focus on the principles, which this country was founded.

I encourage everyone to digest the issues and look for the solutions presented by the candidates to solve them. Discuss the issues with your friends and family. Keep an open mind. Forget whether you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent and decide on what you think is best for the country. Easier said than done because of the biases that we all have grown up with, but if we are going to change the political environment, politics must be placed behind logic. We all seem to be able to tell good from bad, except in politics. I encourage everyone to look up and review the principles with which our country was founded.
