📰 News we're reading
• Newtown Schools Receive Special Education Grant (patch.com) — Newtown families will see a boost in local special education support as the school district receives $265,580 from Connecticut's new High-Quality Special Education Incentive Grant Program. The money, earmarked entirely for program costs, can fund staffing, assistive technology, training, and other tools to expand in-district services so more Newtown students with disabilities can learn closer to home.

• P&Z Continues 9 Beechwood Drive Application (newtownbee.com) — Newtown's Planning & Zoning Commission has again continued the 9 Beechwood Drive subdivision application so the town engineer can fully review updated stormwater plans. Neighbors raised concerns about drainage, erosion, tree removal, and fill quality, while commissioners debated whether to approve the three-lot subdivision now or wait for detailed engineering feedback.
