PD: Newtown Man Burglarized Home, Asked for Ransom
The man's ransom tactic ultimately failed, police said.

A Newtown man is facing a slew of criminal charges after he allegedly burglarized an Orchard Hill Road home and attempted to ransom stolen items back to the owner.
The burglary occured on August 14 and it was discovered that several items had been taken, police said.
Police were contacted on August 15 about suspicious text messages regarding ransom for stolen items.

Officers set up surveillance around the burglarized home and identified Joshua Adams, 24, as the suspect, police said.
He was arrested after he attempted to run away in the woods.

Adams is charged with first-degree larceny by extortion, interfering with police, second-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and third-degree burglary.
