Police Blotter, June 4 - 10

Police issue news release on motor vehicle, domestic and other incidents.

Berkshire Road: Scott Yetter, 24, of 16 Jenny Lane, Oxford, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper turns after he was involved in a one-car motor vehicle accident on Berkshire Road near Chestnut Hill Road, police said. Yetter was not injured and failed field sobriety tests. He was released on a $400 bond and is to appear June 24 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Botsford Hill Road: A Mack truck, driven by Justin Hannum, 28, of 64 Liberty St., Oswego, NY, struck an overpass on Botsford Hill Road at about 9 p.m., Monday, police said. He was taken to Danbury Hospital with leg and arm pain, police said. He was issued a verbal warning for failure to obey posted height warning signs, police said.

Botsford Hill Road: At about 8 a.m., Thursday, on Botsford Hill Road, a Nissan, driven by Kate Swatkowski, 23, of 133 Pilgrim Road, Bridgeport, rear-ended a Nissan sport utility vehicle, driven by Anna Carr, Forest Drive, which in turn rear-ended Hyundai SUV, driven by Barbara Gambino, which in turn rear-ended a Honda, driven by Joshua Dittmar, Bishop Circle, and which in turn rear-ended a Volvo seda, driven by Louis Gelda Dr., 43, of 64 Crossbrook Road, Woodbury, police said. Gelda was taken to Danbury Hospital with a report of neck pain, police said. Swatkowski was issued a summons for following too closely.

Church Hill Road: A Saturn, driven by Rita Langenbach, 69, of Nunnawauk Meadows, rear-ended a Toyota station wagon, driven by Kristen Grimaldi, 26, of Paugussett Road, by 52 Church Hill road at about 4:40 p.m., Wednesday, police said. Langenbach was issued an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

East Meadow Brook Road: Gary Seri, 45, of 32 Jeremiah Road, was charged with operating under suspension after she was stopped for traveling 46 mph in a 25-mph zone by 6 E. Meadow Brook Road, police said. Seri was released on a written promise to appear June 24 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Flagpole: A GMC School bus, operated by Luz Martinez, 49, of P.O. Box 1154, Hillburn, N.Y. and owned by We Transport from Plainview, N.Y., crashed into the flag pole at Main Street and Church Hill Road shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, police said. No one was injured but the front-end of the bus was damaged, police said. The flag pole did not appear to be damaged. Martinez received a written warning for failure to obey signs and marks.

Glen Road: Between 1:30 a.m. and 2:41 a.m. Tuesday, someone damaged the door at the Firehouse Bar and Restaurant, 75 Glen Road, while attempting togaine entry to the business, police said. About $500 worth of damage was done, police said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police at 203-426-5841.

Hawleyville Road: A Ford pickup driven by Alexander Calder, 17, of 7 Hop Brook, Brookfield, lost control on the wet pavement of Hawleyville Road, crossed the center line and collided with curbing on the opposite southbound shoulder of the road at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. No injuries were reported. He was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

Middle School: A middle school girl was charged with sixth-degree larceny at about 1:20 p.m. Friday after she was found to have taken money from a teacher's wallet, police said. Due to her age, police did not identify her. She was issued a summons to appear in the juvenile division of the state Superior Court in Danbury on June 21.

Nunnawauk Road: A BMW 325, owned by Lorraine Godfrey, of 5a Nunnawauk Road, rolled into a building at 5c Nunnawauk Meadows, 3 Nunnawauk Road, at about 5 p.m., Friday, police said. No one was injured and no enforcement was taken because it occurred on private property.

Philo Curtis Road: A Toyota Corolla, operated by Jennifer Graham, 18, of 32 Old Farm Road, rounded a corner too fast at about 3 p.m., Wednesday by 28 Philo Curtis Road and ran off the roadway and into a landscaped section of bushes, police said. Graham's vehicle was located the next day and issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, police said.

Pond Brook Road: Some one entered a home at 74 Pond Brook Road through an unlocked rear window and stole a Dell laptop computer between 7:30 and 4:30 p.m., Monday, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 203-426-5841.

Queen Street: A Chrysler PT cruiser, driven by Charles Gillinham, 87, of 30 Hundred Acres was pulling out of the parking lot at 11 Queen St., when it struck a Ford Focus, driven by Elaine Kelly, 36, of 3 Nunnawauk Road, at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. The two drivers did not see each other at the scene, and both separate came to the police department to report the incident, police said.  Gillinham was issued a verbal warning for failure to grant right of way, police said.

South Main Street: A Hyundai Tucson, driven by Laren Busser, 20 of 334 S. Main St., backed into a Sterling LT95, in the parking lot of 282 S. Main St., at around 1:15 p.m., Monday, police said. No one was injured and no enforcement taken because the incident occurred on private property, police said.

South Main Street: Francis E. Dralus was charged with sixth-degree larceny after he allegedly took an item from the Stop & Shop, 228 S. Main St., at about 6 p.m., Tuesday, police said. He was released on a written promise to appear June 23 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

South Main Street: Marc Anthony Cartisano, 52, was charged with second-degree breach of peace shortly before 9 p.m., Monday, police said. Officers were called to 315 S. Main St., on a report of a fight, police said. Cartisano was released on a written promise to appear June 22 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

South Main Street: A Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Nicholas Hespelt, of 36 Spinning Wheel Road, Monroe, rear-ended a GMC Yukon driven by Elizabeth Lucas, of 10 Reservoir Road, at 9 a.m., Saturday by 87 S. Main St., police said.

South Main Street: A Suzuki Verona, driven by Christina Ciamarra, 18, of Avalon Way, rear-ended a Lexus RX4000, driven by Jessica Fisher, 39, of 133 E. 80th St., New York, which in turn rear-ended a Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Joseph Devito, 43, of 264 Turkey Roost Road, Monroe at about 3 p.m., Sunday on South Main Street by Laurel Road, police said. Ciamarra and Fisher were taken to Danbury Hospital with neck and back pain, police said. Ciamarra was issued a summons for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

South Main Street: A Mazda, driven by an unknown person, rear-ended a Honda Accord, driven by Kenny Matthew, 38, of 34 Moorland Road, Trumbull at about 11:15 a.m., Saturday on South Main Street by Botsford Hill Road, police said. The driver took off following the collision and the vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Stratford, police said. The case remains under investigation.

Sugar Street: Donna Barrett, 62, of 9 Little Brook Lane, was taken to Danbury Hospital for injuries to her face, hands, legs and arms and cuts and bruises throughout, after the Jeep Grand Cherokee she was driving westbound veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree at about 130 Sugar St. at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

Toddy Hill Road: A Jeep Wrangler, driven by Andrew Bouton, 17, of 12 Deerfield Drive, rear-ended a Dodge 1500, driven by Ryan Pasko, 17, of 24 Poplar Drive, which in turn rear-ended a Nissan Frontier on Toddy Hill Road at about 11 a.m., Tuesday, police said. No injuries were reported. Bouton was issued a summons for following too closely.

Trades Lane: A Ford van, driven by Jenna Marie Stuart, East Flag Swamp Road, Roxbury, rear-ended a Acura wagon, driven by Valerie Frate, 40, of Russett Road, on Trades Lane by Waserman Way at about 8:15, Friday, police said. Stuart was issued a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said. Frate also was issued an infraction for operating an unregistered vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Watch Hill Road: Annmarie Blagbrough, 46, of 4 Watch Hill Road, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a domestic incident that occurred at about 2:20 p.m., Friday, police said. She was released on a written promise to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Danbury.
