The Presidential Election

How Important is this year’s presidential election? Well, every presidential election is important, however, this one is critically unique because it contains two candidates that have little or no appeal. Forget, for a moment, whether they are qualified or not, because qualifications seem to be irrelevant in today’s electoral process.

Do we care if a candidate’s past is full of scandals? Do we care if a candidate’s past has illegal connections? Have our intellectual abilities and character dissolved, or are we too concentrated on our own social and economic benefits to care about those of our country? Both of these candidates are concentrated on their own personal advances. And, only in this country could this be possible.

The standards for the presidency and other governmental positions are, unfortunately, set by the main street media through constant publications and brainwashing. We are influenced by the media’s selection and presentation of the facts. If they are ‘liberal’ then you will get a biased liberal presentation. If they are conservative the same will occur. So how do we sort the truth from the intentionally biased spin? The answer is, with great difficulty. We must collect as many opinions as possible. I say ‘opinions’ because facts in reporting have become a rare commodity. Then, based on our own biases, judgments and morality we make a decision; right or wrong.
