Proposed Apartment Complex In Newtown Gains Approval: Report
The project is slated for 35 South Main St.
NEWTOWN, CT — The two-story, 20-unit apartment complex proposed by a Brookfield landscape architect has been approved by the Newtown Planning and Zoning Commission for 35 South Main St., the News-Times reported.
Developer Robert Sherwood's approved proposal is a scaled down version of what he planned to build, which was denied by planners due to its size.
Some residents still oppose the plan, which has seven fewer units, and will require tearing down a single-family home on the 1.6 acre parcel.
