The main defendant in the Sandy Hook gun lawsuit has filed a motion to keep some parts of discovery out of public view.
Earlier in the case the lawyer for the families of victims asked for internal company materials related to things such as how Remington Arms markets its guns to the public.

The lawsuit filed by law firm Koskoff, Koskoff and Bieder argues that the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle shouldn’t have been released to the public and belongs only in the hands of military and law enforcement personnel. The 2012 mass shooting left 20 children and six educators dead.
Remington maintains that certain documents are proprietary commercial information that could cause financial harm to the company and benefit its competitors, according to its motion for a protective order. It includes proprietary market research and sales strategies.

The first sworn depositions will take place this week and Remington marketing and sales team members are scheduled to be deposed.
