Sandy Hook Man Arrested for DUI; Larceny at Cemetery

DUI Arrest

A Sandy Hook man was arrested after he allegedly crashed into another vehicle while under the influence.

Daniel Falagan, 36, was charged with DUI and failure to drive right after the August 4 crash on Church Hill Road.

His vehicle struck another vehicle that was stopped at a light near the I-84 eastbound ramp, police said.

There were no reported injuries.

Larceny at cemetery

A portable generator and tools were reported stolen from the St. Rose Cemetery.

The theft happened sometime between August 5 and August 9.

Newtown Police ask anyone with information to call them.

17-year-old buys booze with fake ID

A 17-year-old male was charged after he allegedly bought alcohol from the Cork N Barrel on South Main Street with a fake ID.

Police were conducting underage drinking enforcement on August 7 when they noticed the male walking out of the store with alcohol.

He was charged with misrepresenting age to purchase alcohol and possession of alcohol by a minor.
