Sandy Hook Parents Isolate Following Texas Security Concerns: Report

Two Sandy Hook parents attending the Alex Jones defamation trial have been taken into protective isolation, according to a report.

NEWTOWN, CT — Two Sandy Hook parents attending the first of three trials in their defamation case against Alex Jones have been taken into protective isolation following unspecified incidents, according to the News-Times.

Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis are the parents of Jesse Lewis, who was among the 20 children and six staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School who were killed in 2012 by a 20-year-old gunman.

The incidents occurred outside the Austin, TX courthouse where the trial to determine damages levied against Jones for spreading conspiracy theories in the wake of the mass shooting has entered its second week.

Jones told listeners to his InfoWars show the deaths were a "false flag" being promoted by gun control fanatics. He has since recanted, saying he believes the shootings were genuine.

It is "unclear" whether Heslin and Lewis have filed a complaint with police. Both parents have experienced post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety because of repeated threats from Jones' followers, according to a therapist who testified Monday.
