Sandy Hook Promise Needs Support for Ongoing Programs

"Right now, we don't have enough donors to keep our community-powered effort to save lives going," Makris said.

From Tim Makris:

I‘m about to head out for a final run to loosen my legs before the marathon tomorrow, and I have to tell you, my head isn’t fully in this race. I’m too worried about not hitting our goal and having to scale back Sandy Hook Promise’s programs to prevent gun violence.

Right now, we don’t have enough donors to keep our community-powered effort to save lives going. And while I’m completely energized to run one of the world’s most famous marathons, that’s what this is really about: saving lives.

These last hours before tomorrow’s deadline feel a lot like my training – that final, toughest part when I’m sure my legs will give up on me at any minute. But they don’t – and I’m not giving up on you, either. If you make a tax-deductible donation right now, we’ll get there.

Click here to rush your tax-deductible donation of $10, or whatever you can, to Sandy Hook Promise now. If we come up short, we’ll have to cut back our lifesaving programs – so please don’t wait.

Thank you for making this marathon journey with me and with Sandy Hook Promise – I truly appreciate your support, your love for our community, and your dedication to our efforts to keep all our children safe.

Stay tuned for photos from the finish line. I hope to do you proud!
