Sandy Hook Victims Re Victimized By Charity Fraud

One of the most contemptible acts I can imagine is exploiting our community tragedy for personal gain by means of fraudulent charity schemes.In January of this year it was disclosed that a charity called 26 for 26 had absconded with $70 THOUSAND dollars and yet we still have no idea what the status is of this scam.Apparently this “charity” exploited the use of Vicki Soto and other victims names to garner support for donations.

Ryan Graney ( an affiliate of the charity), who ostensibly remains the Soto family media relations manager, reported suspected irregularities of the finances by Robbie Bruce. This issue was exposed some time ago and yet we still have no answers. Is there any Federal involvement as was done in the Pozner case ? If not then why not ? This is substantially more money than was scammed in the Pozner charity fraud which, to my understanding, was less than $1,000.

We wish the Soto family well in their current endeavor on the Vicki Soto 5k forthcoming shortly. However we cannot ignore the concern that their media relations manager was affiliated with the previous charity fraud.. What efforts have been made to ascertain the status of the investigations and why have there been no indictments despite so much time having elapsed? The scope of an investigation into this type of activity should take very little time at all.

What transparency can we expect in the future ? Is there any reason why all revenue and disbursements cannot be published on line ? Before we donate any more funds or sponsor any more events how can we be assured another charity, like the one affiliated with Ryan Graney and the Soto family, will not misuse the funds ?

What controls or audit procedures are in place to ensure this egregious fraud does not occur again? Our community and families of the victims do not deserve to be re-victimized by charity fraud

Demand prosecution of anyone engaged in charity fraud and demand transparency of all Sandy Hook charity activities.
