Star Wars Fan Petitions CEO of Disney to Make Slain Sandy Hook Teacher a Jedi Knight
A Florida man has started a campaign on Change.org to make slain Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher Rachel D'Avino a Jedi Knight.

“There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.” ~ The Jedi Code
Joshua Synovec, of Clermont, Florida, has created a petition on Change.org to honor Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher Rachel D’Avino who was killed two years ago in the Sandy Hook School shooting on Dec. 14, 2012.
Synovec, a Star Wars lover himself, read that D’Avino also was a huge fan, and has made it his personal mission to see that she posthumously gains Jedi knight status due to her heroism. He is petitioning Robert Iger, CEO of Walt Disney Co. to help his dream to honor the fallen educator become a reality.

After hearing of how D’Avino stayed with one of the children that was killed, Synovec said, “This may sound very nerdy, but that is very much in the spirit of the Jedi Order. Those who do heroic things such as Rachel D’Avino do deserve to be remembered, even if it is through something such as Star Wars.”
D’Avino, 29, was a behavioral therapist at Sandy Hook Elementary School and was hailed as a hero as she comforted and protected her students during the shooting.

“This struck a chord with me,” Synovec said, “I did not know her, but as a result of this petition I have come to know some of her family and friends. I am merely a Star Wars fan myself wishing to see another Star Wars fan who died heroically immortalized.”
As of this posting, the page has 2,753 supporters. They need 247 more signatures to send the petition in to the CEO of Disney.
