Tractor Supply Company Announces Target Opening Date for Rte. 25 Store

The company has broken ground on the Newtown store.

NEWTOWN, CT — Tractor Supply Company, slated to open at 116 South Main St. (Rte.25) in Newtown, is planning to open in September, the company announced Wednesday.

The company has broken ground on its 19,097 square foot retail space, which includes a sales floor and external support service area. The store hopes to serve the community's farmers, livestock and pet owners, ranchers, part-time and hobby farmers, gardeners, homeowners, tradesmen and more.

“We’re not just building a store, we’re building a team that understands the needs of the Newtown community,” said District Manager Alan Morris in a statement.

The store plans to hire 12-15 employees with expertise in pets, livestock and land. The store also seeks to support pet adoption initiatives, 4-h and FFA, county fairs and livestock shows. The store is being constructed by Brian Gesell of Newtown.

Upon it's opening, the company will kick off with a four-day Grand Opening celebration. Tractor Supply Company operates over 1,500 stores in 49 states.
