WEATHER UPDATE: Snow and Ice Accumulation Prediction Made for Newtown

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area beginning at midnight.

The National Weather Service is calling for a long duration winter storm that will really get going late tonight and into Monday morning.

Before the accumulation ends late Monday there could be an additional 4-8 inches of snow on the ground and a quarter inch of ice, which will make traveling for Monday morning’s commute very difficult.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the area as a light mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will develop today and grow heavier and steadier over night and into tomorrow morning.
