Controversial North Branford Propane Storage Plan Gains State Wetlands Approval: Report
Opponents are vowing to continue the fight against the proposal.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — The controversial proposed propane storage facility in North Branford received wetlands approval this week from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, reports the New Haven Register.
With the stormwater discharge permit granted by DEEP, Guilford-based J.J. Sullivan Fuel Co. is a step closer to building the facility on Ciro Road in North Branford. But there are certain conditions the company must meet, and the project still needs local Planning and Zoning approval. Opponents are vowing to continue the fight against the proposal.
Among the conditions are that the company cannot make any alterations to the site without a new application; the permit expires in five years; and the company must try to prevent pollution at the site, according to the publication.
