Concerns Expressed Over Proposed Ax-Throwing Venue In North Haven
Plans for a potential ax-throwing venue in North Haven have been met with some opposition.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Plans for a potential axe-throwing venue in North Haven have been met with some opposition from the town’s police chief and fire chief over concerns that the business might allow alcohol consumption, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reports an application was submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission to amend zoning regulations to allow axe-throwing facilities in North Haven. Both chiefs said they weren’t opposed to the business but didn’t believe the activity should be mixed with alcohol, according to the Record-Journal.
Axe-throwing is gaining popularity in several markets and Blue Ox Axe Throwing recently opened at a former warehouse in Wallingford. Montana Nights in Newington also recently opened and the Newington Planning and Zoning Commission endorsed a permit that allows the operators to sell adult beverages, namely wine, beer and cider and wine, at their facility.
