North Haven Man Charged For Setting Fires In New Haven: Police
Police say the man, who was arrested for setting fires in North Haven earlier this year, was charged in connection to two fires in 2016.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man has been charged in connection to two fires in 2016 in New Haven thanks to a collaboration between the two police departments, according to North Haven Police.
Anthony Laudano, 28, was arrested by North Haven Police on Jan. 29 for a series of illegal fires he set in the fall of 2018, police said. The investigation involved North Haven Detectives working in collaboration with North Haven Fire and the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit, according to police.
Police said the arrest by North Haven helped “establish Laudano as a suspect in two unsolved arsons in New Haven.”

Laudano was detained by North Haven Police on July for New Haven Police, who had secured a warrant for his arrest. New Haven Police responded to take custody of Laudano, who was held on a $300,000 court-set bond.
“This incident stands as a great example of how collaboration and information sharing can often lead to great results,” North Haven Police said in a post on Facebook.

Laudano was charged by New Haven Police in connection to two fires in 2016 that occurred within minutes of each other at the Taco Bell on Foxon Boulevard and the Shell gas station on Townsend Avenue, according to the New Haven Register. Both fires were intentionally set in the men’s room trash bins, according to the Register.
