Brown Harris Stevens CT Collects 150 Winter Coats In Norwalk Area

The real estate brokerage firm has partnered with the nonprofit Button Up Connecticut to distribute the coats to people in need.

NORWALK, CT — Brown Harris Stevens (BHS), the premier privately owned real estate brokerage, has announced that the firm’s Connecticut offices in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Rowayton, Stamford and Westport have collected 150 coats in its annual coat drive, now in its third year.

BHS has partnered with the nonprofit Button Up Connecticut to distribute the coats to people in need throughout the state.

"Beginning in October every year, Brown Harris Stevens agents get their clients and customers involved in collecting hundreds of gently used and new coats for Connecticut residents in need," said Christopher Halstead, BHS executive sales director, in a news release. "We are honored to help so many in our community who are in need of warmth and protection from the cold. The simple act of donating a coat can make a significant difference."

Dan Siracusa of Siracusa Moving and Storage started Button Up Connecticut in 1992.

Over the last 30-plus years, more than 750,000 coats have been distributed to Connecticut men, women, and children.

"We are thankful to BHS for using their capabilities, company and locations to contribute to this great cause of giving people coats," Siracusa added.
