Cause Of Death Reported In Fatal Fall At The SoNo Collection

NORWALK, CT — Construction worker Lorgio Jimenez-Suarez, 52, died of "blunt impact" after he he fell from an elevated height outside of The SoNo Collection mall on Nov. 12, reports the Greenwich Time.

Jimenez-Suarez, of Astoria, NY, suffered the impact injuries to his head and torso, in addition to skeletal fractures, according to an autopsy by the state Chief Medical Examiner's office.

Patch reached out to the Chief Medical Examiner's office for information but did not immediately receive a reply.

Jimenez-Suarez fell at about 2:30 a.m., and after emergency personnel tended to him at the scene he was rushed to Norwalk Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

He was working for Raleigh, NC-based Del Metro Inc., a metal construction company, which was subcontracted by construction company VCC/KBE, which is the mall project's general contractor, according to the Greenwich Time.

The mall opened in October, but work has continued inside and outside as more stores prepare to open for the holiday season and beyond.
