Fall registration is open at Crystal Theatre!

Summer is wrapping up and it’s time to start thinking about fall extracurricular activities! Crystal Theatre is offering a number of show classes and workshops for students kindergarten through adult this fall. Whether you’ve never stepped foot on a stage before, or are an avid thespian, Crystal Theatre offers students of all ages a chance to shine and improve their acting, singing, dancing, and stage presence. Have a little one? “Santa’s Little Helpers” is the perfect class for you. When Santa’s North Pole Workshop is in trouble, the producer recruits young children to perform as elves at Santa’s Workshop. The only problem is once they get there, all they want to do is play with the toys and chaos ensues. Develop your singing, dancing and acting skills in this holiday extravaganza with the “big kids”. This class rehearses on Mondays from 4:15-5:15.

We are offering two different sessions of our elementary school class, “Put Your Money on the Bunny”, based on the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. Parts for all in this fun musical directed by veteran teacher Sally Szabo-Lombardo. You can sign up for either the Monday class or the Tuesday class on our website.

If your middle schooler is busy on the weekends, we are back to offering a weekday option - our Thursday evening class of “Trolls”. This original musical by Cheryl Kemeny about a war between humans and trolls is a great opportunity to improve your skills ahead of the spring musical at your schools!

On Saturdays, we have our big middle school and high school combined musical, “Save Santa’s Workshop”. What will happen when Mrs. Claus’s sister, Lisa, decides to direct a reality show at the North Pole? Elves, reindeer, and humans are abound in this big holiday musical written and directed by artistic director & president Cheryl Kemeny.

Crystal Theatre’s new subsidiary, Crystal Community Theatre, focuses on bringing our award-winning original productions to adults around Norwalk and the surrounding area. Our fall musical, “Louder than Words” is directed by author David Jackins and musically directed by composer Cheryl Kemeny. Open auditions will be held on August 28th at 7pm and August 29th at 4pm.

We also have two singing groups - Crystal Singers Jr. (2nd-6th graders) and Crystal Singers (7th-12th graders), frequent dance classes on Saturday mornings before Save Santa’s Workshop, and pre-professional classes on Sundays from 4-7pm.
