Longtime Norwalk Police Officer Retires After 16 Years With Department
A longtime Norwalk police officer retired this week after 16 years with the department.
NORWALK, CT — A longtime Norwalk police officer retired this week after 16 years with the department.
In a Facebook post, police said Officer Scott Anderson retired Wednesday.
Anderson joined the Norwalk Police Department on March 25, 2010, and "served with professionalism and commitment in multiple assignments," including the patrol and property divisions, according to the post.

Prior to his time in Norwalk, he completed a distinguished 23-year career as a Connecticut State Trooper and also proudly served in the United States Air Force, according to the department.
Throughout his career, Anderson was recognized for his outstanding police work, including receiving a Meritorious Commendation Certificate "for his role in safely resolving an incident involving an armed subject," according to the department.

He was also the recipient of numerous letters of appreciation from community members and organizations for his professionalism, dedication and compassion, the department's post notes.
"We thank Officer Anderson for his many years of service and his contributions to the city of Norwalk," the department wrote on Facebook. "Please join us in wishing him a happy and well-deserved retirement."
