New Schools Superintendent To Be Named In Norwalk: Report

She will replace Dr. Steven Adamowski, who is retiring.

NORWALK, CT — Alexandra Estrella, a New York City educator with more than 20 years experience, is expected to be named the next superintendent of schools in Norwalk, replacing the retiring Dr. Steven Adamowski, writes the Norwalk Hour.

Estrella is scheduled to be approved for the position by the Board of Education during an online meeting on Thursday night. Among her jobs in the New York City School System, Estrella most recently was with the Community School District 4 in East Harlem, New York, where she served as superintendent.

Upon approval, Estrella will begin her new job on July 1. Adamowski has served as Norwalk's superintendent since 2015, following positions with the state Department of Education and schools superintendent in Hartford, among others.
