Norwalk Announces 2023 Memorial Day Parade Details
The city's annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to take place May 29, beginning at Veterans Park and ending at the Town Green.
NORWALK, CT — Norwalk's annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to take place Monday morning.
According to a news release provided by the city, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park and end at the Town Green on East Avenue.
This will be the second year a C-130 airplane will fly over the parade route around 10:30 a.m., courtesy of the 103rd Airlift Wing/118 Airlift Squadron of the Connecticut Air National Guard.

This year, the city has selected Leo Motyka as the grand marshal of the Memorial Day Parade. Motyka is a Norwalk native who served as senior vice commander in the U.S. Army.
Boats will not be able to dock at Veterans Park until 11 a.m. on Monday due to the parade, according to city officials.

Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling and other local and state leaders are scheduled to take part in the parade, as well as the Norwalk Police Department, the city's Military & Veterans Liaison Committee, the Norwalk Fire Department Pipe Band, the Norwalk High School Marching Bears, the Brien McMahon High School Marching Senators and bands from West Rocks, Roton, Ponus Ridge and Nathan Hale middle schools.
