With the recent ranking of Norwalk as one of America’s Best Places to live by Money magazine comes a celebration of sorts. The experts of Money are hosting a town hall style meeting where refreshments and raffles spark the festivities.
The promotion is all part of the gaining control of your financial life theme of the magazine.
Tad Diesel, City of Norwalk’s Director of Marketing and Business Development, said that Norwalk has been catching national interest in a positive way. Norwalk benefits from it’s distance and proximity to New York, marking an easy commute yet retaining a small city feel. This, stressed Diesel, is what makes Norwalk stand out in Fairfield County. "We are proud to host this event," said Diesel.

The numbers used in the compiling these kind of “best of lists” bear this out. Taking a look at commuting distance, quality of life, housing and median income Norwalk fit right in to the near the average on every category. Connecticut placed five cities on the list, West Hartford (55), Stamford (78), Bristol (84), Hamden (87) and Norwalk (90) representing a good showing for Connecticut overall.
Out of the five Connecticut based "best places to live", Norwalk earned the third installment of the Money Take Charge Live event, after Eden Prairie, MN and Franklin Township NJ. The event will be held at City Hall on March 16 starting at 6:30 p.m. Registration is available online at moneytakecharge.com.

Diesel said, "The conversation is designed to focus on content considered most important by the participants and those questions can be posted as part of the registration process."
