The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

In my view, there are several pressing issues. The most pressing is equity. I am committed to making sure that every child has an opportunity to succeed. Second, I am committed to supports that focus on students' social-emotional learning and mental health.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I have served in responsible roles in both the public and private sectors so that I have a clear understanding of the challenges and nuances of both types of organizations. Moreover, for nine years, I was an employee of the school district.

Accomplishments:

As a commissioner on the Norwalk Housing Authority Board, I oversaw the completion of the Soundview Landing project located on the former Washington Village site - the oldest public housing in the state of CT. I played a critical role in the 75 million overhaul of Brien McMahon High School.

Other issues:

My tenure as a city employee has helped shape my steadfast support of public education. I am a fervent believer in providing the necessary tools to help cultivate our students into lifelong learners who are industrious, thoughtful, multi-faceted, and productive stewards in a transformative world.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

A lifelong resident, I graduated from Brien McMahon High School. My daughter attended schools here as well. I earned a Master's in Public Administration from Post University and I hold a Bachelor's in Communications from Long Island University. Public service is particularly important to me – my father, Harold McCready, was active on the Library Board, served on the Fire Commission, and served two terms on the Common Council under the leadership of Mayor Esposito.
