Officials to Tighten Rules on Renting City Property After 500+ Person Party

There was some damage to the Gallaher Estate grounds following a wild 500+ person party that ended in melee and gunfire.

Norwalk Parks and Recreation approved the Gallaher Estate use for Sikoyia Bennett to host an “All White Gala” on July 5, according to the Norwalk Hour.

There were no incidents at the beach, which had 20,000 people, but the estate party turned into a mess, said Parks and Rec Director Mike Moccaie.

City officials will meet with organizers of the event. There was some damage to the grounds.

Nancy on Norwalk reports that officials have pledged to tighten rules on renting out property.

Police weren’t aware of the event until they got a report of a shooting at the park.
