Proposal Floated to Make Norwalk Nautical Hub for Organic Food: Report
East Norwalk-based Harbor Harvest is teaming with Mamaroneck's Robert E. Derecktor Inc. shipyard on the plan.

NORWALK, CT — The principals that built the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk's research vessel are teaming up on a proposal to make Norwalk a hub for ferrying organic and locally grown foods across Long Island Sound, reports The Hour.
Robert E. Derecktor Inc. shipyard in Mamaroneck, NY, and Robert Kunkel, president of Stamford-based Alternative Marine Technologies, are proposing to create an eco-friendly organic food delivery fleet using emissions-free vessels.
Kunkel co-owns Harbor Harvest which "is dedicated to developing the relationship between Farmer, Harbor and Customer," according to its Facebook page. The market and restaurant would spearhead the delivery fleet proposal.
