NORWALK, CT — The 22-year-old Norwalk man, who is already facing charges in connection with a mass shooting threat, was arrested again early Saturday morning, this time on an assault charge.

Brandon Wagshol, of Bedford Avenue, is accused of beating a victim with a two-foot pipe during an altercation inside his home. The victim sustained a large laceration to the head, but police did not disclose whether that person required treatment at nearby Norwalk Hospital.

Norwalk police officers were called to Wagshol's Bedford Avenue apartment at about 5 a.m. on a report that Wagshol had pushed the victim.

"When officers arrived on scene, there was yelling inside the apartment," said Lt. Jared Zwickler. "They knocked on the door and Wagshol came to the door and was detained without incident. Officers located a victim inside who Wagshol had pushed into a wall, causing damage to the wall."

Police recovered the two-foot pipe from the scene, and it has been secured as evidence.

Last August, Wagshol was arrested, and his and his father's firearms were seized, when he was charged with four counts of illegal possession of large capacity [gun] magazines. He is free on bond in connection with that case, and his next court date for those charges is Feb. 20 in Stamford.

In the Saturday incident, Wagshol was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He was held in lieu of bail of $500,000, and he is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 3.
