Acting Chief Announced as New Permanent Norwich Police Chief

The 47-year old officer has been acting chief since July 1.

NORWICH, CT – Current acting police Chief Patrick Daley was announced Thursday to become the city’s new permanent chief, The Day reported.

Daley has been acting chief since July 1, according to The Day. The 47-year old officer has been with the Norwich Police Department for 23 years.

City and police officials had strongly recommended Daley for the position, The Day reported. He will be sworn in as chief during a ceremony scheduled tentatively for the end of the week.
