Man Charged In Shooting Receives Plea Offer After Bond Is Denied
A former Norwich resident charged in a 2009 shooting has been offered a plea deal after a request to lower his bond was denied.

NORWICH, CT - A former Norwich resident charged in a shooting that took place nearly eight years ago has been offered a plea deal, the New London Day reported. The offer comes after a request to reduce his $3 million bond was denied.
Chihan Eric Chyung, 54, is charged in the June 2009 shooting death of his newlywed wife, according to the New London Day. His conviction was overturned by the state Supreme Court in April. Chyung's attorney will notify the court whether or not he accepts the deal when Chyung returns to court on September 21, the New London Day reported. His case will likely be scheduled for a re-trial by the end of the year if he rejects the offer.
