Norwich Firefighters Battle Blaze At Abandoned State Site: Report
The fire broke out Wednesday morning.

NORWICH, CT — An abandoned building at the former Norwich State Hospital site was damaged by a Wednesday morning fire, writes NBC Connecticut.
The fire was reported at about 8:30 a.m., and required crews from both the Laurel Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Norwich Fire Department to douse, according to the Norwich Bulletin.
The property, which is nearly 400 acres, has been vacant for more than 20 years, and is slated to be developed into an entertainment or attraction-type facility by the Mohegan Tribe.
