Norwich Man Attempts to Rob Cancer Patient of Prescription Painkillers: Police

Police said the suspect demanded the woman give him her medication.

NORWICH, CT - A Norwich man is charged with attempting to rob a cancer patient of her painkillers, as reported by The Day.

Police said Jamal Young, 29, held a gun to the unidentified 57-year old patient’s head during an attempted December 18 home invasion, according to The Day. The suspect demanded the woman give him her medication.

The victim was able to close the man’s arm in her front doorway, but he broke free and ran away before police could be contacted, The Day reported. The woman initially identified a neighbor as the suspect but later realized it was that man’s brother-in-law, Young.
