Norwich Man’s Armed Robbery Charges Dropped, Deemed Mistaken Identity Case
The man had been charged in the robbery of a food market over the summer.

NORWICH, CT - A Norwich man’s pending armed robbery charges were dropped after the situation was deemed a case of mistaken identity, The Day reported.
Justin Serrano Jr., 46, was charged with holding up Sam’s Food Mart on July 18, according to The Day. The case was dismissed Wednesday after the court was notified that police had mistakenly identified him as the suspect.
The court returned $450 in cash to Serrano, as well as a cell phone police had seized after his arrest, The Day reported. Police thought they had identified him in video surveillance of the July incident based on prior police contact.
