Norwich Police Campaign to Crack Down on Texting and Driving this Month
Norwich Police will paying close attention for people texting and driving this month.

NORWICH, CT – Police will begin a two-week initiative Wednesday to find and cite people for texting and driving, The Day reported.
August marks the start of the “U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY.” campaign, the second of this type for the year, according to The Day. The first operation in April resulted in 12,000 citations across the state.
Police said areas where the first campaign was enforced saw an 8 percent drop in drivers using cell phones, The Day reported. The campaign is conducted in conjunction with the Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
