PLAINFIELD, CT - State Police said a motor vehicle pursuit Thursday lead to an arrest after a suspect intentionally struck a police cruiser.

At approximately 11 p.m., troopers attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 12 in Killingly near the Plainfield town line. Plainfield police originally tried to stop the white 2016 Chevy for traffic violations, but the driver refused to stop, according to a release.

The pursuit continued west on Route 6 into the town of Brooklyn, where troopers attempted to “box-in” the suspect and roll his car to a stop. The suspect, 18-year old Chad Barrett, swerved right and struck several mailboxes.
