Join us for the 8th annual National Drive Electric Month (NDEM) event at Kathleen E. Goodwin School, 80 Old Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, CT 06475, on Saturday, 10 October 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. At this event, experienced electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) owners will show their cars and share how they drive and charge their vehicles. Auto dealers will showcase some of the latest EV and PHEV models. Available to all attendees will be handouts about many of the newest EV models and charging options as well as up-to-date information about rebates from the State of Connecticut&nbsp;and from Eversource Energy. <a href="https://driveelectricmonth.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">National Drive Electric Month</a> (11 September to 12 October, 2026) events occur nationwide to raise awareness of the benefits of driving all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles. St John's Episcopal Church

The public is invited to join us as we honor and remember Thomas Sobuck, a young Nehantic mariner who was indentured to one of the founding members of St. John's in Essex. The Witness Stones project seeks to recognize those who were enslaved and to tell their stories. This is the third Witness Stone to be placed at St. John's. Members of the Nehantic community will be present to give thanks for the life and memory of one of their own.

This is the tragic story about a water nymph who sacrifices her voice to a witch, Jezibaba, to become human and marry a prince. After he rejects her for a foreign princess, she becomes a cursed sprite, ultimately killing the Prince with a fatal kiss.
Beautiful staging, costumes, a full orchestra and more will submerge you in this classic and timeless story.
