Report: President Obama Heading to Bridgeport to Support Malloy
Obama will head to the city on Oct. 15 for a rally.

President Barack Obama will be making his second trip to Connecticut this month to help promote Governor Dannel Malloy in his bid for re-election.
Obama will visit Bridgeport on Oct. 15 for a rally, the Connecticut Post reported, citing an anonymous source.
Obama attended a Democratic fundraiser in Greenwich on Tuesday. Donations at the dinner ranged from $10,000 to $32,400.

Republican star New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie visited Trumbull earlier this week to stump for Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley.
Malloy recently closed a six-point gap in the Quinnipiac Poll and is now in a dead heat with Foley. Debates between the two candidates have gotten just as fierce as the poll numbers. The two had a nasty exchange at the most recent debate.

The race has been drawing national attention. Malloy was the first Democrat elected governor since William O’Neill, who served from 1980 to 1991. There have only been four governors in Connecticut since 1950 who have served only one term in office. A recent article by conservative magazine National Review called Malloy the country’s worst governor.
