The Oxford 12-year-old Babe Ruth All Star team defeated North Canaan by a score of 12-2 in a game that was called short by a mercy rule Saturday.
With the win, the team advanced to the second round of the state tournament in which it defeated Bridgeport.
The 13-year-old All Star team came from behind to defeat Naugatuck 11-9. The team was down 9-1 when pitcher John Yish came in and pitched two shut out innings, not allowing a hit. And Gunner Fay hit a bases clearing triple to put Oxford up. Dave Keller was the winning pitcher for Oxford.

The 13-year-old team will play the winner between Naugatuck and Shelton - who play today - on Monday.
